B. Unity and prayer are two essentials for church growth (Acts 1:14).
C. Our minds must always be focused upon the Scriptures (Acts 1:15, 20).
D. Some will not always remain faithful to their call.
1. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry (Acts 1:17).
2. …from which Judas by transgression fell… (Acts 1:25).
E. The child of God’s evil deeds are often known by others (Acts 1:18-19).
F. Offices within the church come with qualifications.
1. Peter lays down the qualifications for one to be an apostle (Acts 1:21-22).
Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
2. No man today can qualify to be an apostle. No one has lived with Jesus during His lifetime. No one has been an eye witness His resurrection.
G. Qualified men need to be ready to replace any of the fallen among us (Acts 1:23).
H. Prayer should always be involved in very important decisions (Acts 1:24-25)
I. No man within the church is irreplaceable (Acts 1:26).
