Shari’a Law (3)
Victor M. Eskew
Shari’a Law is “the law” of the Muslim religion. It is also the law of the desired Caliphate of Islam, that is, the Islamic State. Muslims want this law implemented throughout the world. They want it to be the governing law in every nation. This desire involves an attack against Article 6 of the Constitution of the United States. This Article declares that the Constitution is the highest law of the land and cannot be subjugated to any other law.
Muslim leaders understand that they cannot just come into the United States and overthrow our Constitution. Therefore, they seek other ways to implement Shari’a Law in our society. One way this is done is through the establishment of Shari’a enclaves. “These efforts are designed to create Islamic autonomous areas, often with the express desire of incrementally bringing the host country completely under Sharia-based governance” (www.frontpagemag.com, “Sharia Enclaves in the West,” post by Ryan Mauro).
There are numerous places in the United States that are Shari’a enclaves. Dearborn, Michigan, Gwynn Oak in Baltimore, Maryland, and Islamberg, New York are three examples of autonomous Islamic communities. “One group leading the effort to establish Islamic communities within the United States is As-Sabiqun, led by an extremist cleric named Imam Abdul Alim Musa” (www.carnageandculture.blogspot.com, “Sharia Enclaves in the West”). The following is a quote from the website of As-Sabiqun in the “Mission and Goals” section.
“Through our work and sacrifice, we hope to become a model “Islamic community.” We define Islamic community as one which is self-suffi- cient, independent, and well-guided. A community in which true bro- therhood and sisterhood is clearly defined and practiced. We do not, however, limit ourselves by defining ‘community’ as one geographical location. Instead, we intend to establish, with the help of Allah, multi- ple masjid-centered communities across the country.”
The most successful organization in the enclave movement in the United States is Muslims of the Americas. They boast of having 22 villages scattered throughout the country.
Remember, these areas within our borders are Islamic autonomous areas. In other words, they are completely governed by Shari’a Law. For the most part, the laws of the United States do not apply to these communities. Most of the time, the police are not allowed in these enclaves. Within these areas, Shari’a courts have been established to hear the causes of the community. Very few government officials desire to know what happens in these enclaves. They are left alone to follow the dictates of Shari’a Law. This is considered a victory to the Muslims. Each community is one area of the United States that has been overtaken by Shari’a Law.
A second way Islam seeks to implement Shari’a Law in our nation is by slowly asserting its so-called “religious rights” at school, work, and in recreational settings. Below are a few examples of how Shari’a has found a way to impact the daily lives of some United States citizens.
- Many companies are now selling halal foods, that is, products that
that are Shari’a compliant for Muslims to eat. Kentucky Fried Chick-
en in Dearborn, MI has a sign beneath the colonel’s beard that reads:
“Now serving halal original and crispy” (Detroit Free Press, March,
- A Muslim woman refused to remove her headscarf for a Boulder
County Jail booking photo. She said the Qur’an calls for Muslims to
wear the scarf except in the company of close family” (CBS Denver,
December 4, 2010).
- Muslim-heavy Fordson High School in Dearborn, MI scheduled foot-
Ball practice for the middle of the night, 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., so
Team members participating in the daytime fast of Ramadan could
drink while training (Islamist Watch, “Ramadan Accommodations,”
David J. Rusin, Sept. 10, 2010).
- Schools are beginning to incorporate Muslim holidays into their yearly
schedules. The most prominent holiday is Eid al Fitr, which marks the
end of Ramadan.
- Muslim taxi drivers refuse to pick up customers with seeing-eye dogs.
- Muslim checkers in grocery stores refuse to check out any pork products.
- To attract and manage (Middle Eastern) Muslim wealth, an increasing
number of American financial institutions are becoming Sharia-compli-
ant. This requires donating a percentage of their annual profits to Islam-
ic organizations designated by their Sharia-compliant advisors, many of
whom are members of the Muslim Brotherhood. This money is funneled
to terrorist groups who practice Jihad.
Again, every time Shari’a Law is allowed to influence, inconvenience, and change our lives, it is considered a victory by the Muslims. They believe that their law if divine and superior to ours. One allowance is one victory regardless of how small it seems.
A third way Shari’a is being brought into American society is through the political process. Muslim men and women are occupying positions of authority within our government. Islamic lobbyists are working every day to influence lawmakers to put forth legislation that will favor Islamic ideology. As they labor in high positions, they assert their so-called “religious rights” in every way possible.
Shari’a Law is on the march in our nation. It is like a caterpillar that slowly eats away at a leaf until it is consumed. The bites taken are very small. No one seems to be concerned until the leaf is radically altered. Then, it is too late to restore the leaf. Let us beware. Islam is slowly eating away at the Constitution of the United States of America. If we do not stop the small bites being taken, the entire “leaf” could be consumed.
