Exo. 2:4, 7-8; 15:20-21; Num. 12:1-15; Num. 20:1; 26:59; Deut. 24:9; 1 Chron. 6:3; Micah 6:4

1.    Why would Miriam be watching the ark of bulrushes into which the baby Moses was put (Exo.2:4)?

2.    Miriam manifested great wisdom when she asked Pharaoh’s daughter if she wanted her to find a Hebrew woman to nurse the child she had found.  How did Miriam acquire such wisdom at a young age?

3.    What do we learn about Miriam from Exodus 15:20-21?

4.    Why did Miriam and Aaron revolt against the leadership of their brother Moses (Num. 21:1-2)?

5.    Why was Miriam smitten with leprosy and not Aaron?

6.    Why didn’t Miriam ask Moses to intercede for her instead of Aaron’s doing it?

7.    What comes to mind when you read about Miriam’s death recorded in Number 20:1?

8.    What lessons can we learn from Moses’ words about Miriam in Deuteronomy 24:9?  “Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt.”

9.    Micah 6:4 indicates that Miriam had a leadership role when Israel left Egypt.  “For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.”  What do you think that role involved?
