Study of the process in which individuals become unfaithful and how to guard against that way of thinking from observations from the Book of Malachi

 

1:1-2 Forgetting that God loves us

 

1:6-8/12-13 Giving Our Left Overs to God

 

2:1-2 Not taking God’s commands and statutes to heart

 

2:11-16 Dealing treacherously with one’s closest earthly relationships

 

2:17 Asking where is the God of Justice

 

3:7 Physically Present yet Spiritually Absent

 

3:8-10 Robbing God what you could give him

 

3:13-15 Believing that it is useless to serve God

 

• 1:1 Remember when God has loved you (count your blessings)
• Doesn’t change 3:6-7
• 1:6 Recognition of who God is and what he deserves
• 1:9 entreat God’s favor
• 2:5-7 a covenant that promotes peace & life
• 2:10 recognize God as our perfect father and emulate Him and what purpose he created us - to produce godly offspring (2:15)
• 3:1-5 Recognize God has come, given his full and perfect testimony in which we will be judged
• 3:10-12 recognize that we cannot out give God
• 3:16-18 recognize that God will not overlook his true servants
• 4:1 Recognizing the fate of the wicked
• 4:2 Recognizing the fate of those who fear God
• 4:4 remember the law of Moses
